「10万石格式の大名行列」

三条市の鎮守、八幡宮の春季大祭として催される三条祭り（5月15日開催）は、約200年の歴史を持つ「10万石格式の大名行列」として知られる伝統行事です。1822年（文政5年）村上藩主内藤信敦が京都所司代となったのを三条郷民が祝って10万石格式の行列を模して神輿渡御を行ったものがその始まりとされています。この祭りは、市の文化財にも指定されており、若衆による奴の所作や総勢200名を超える大名行列は圧巻です。
大名行列の後、親が子供の成長を祈って2～3歳の子供を肩車し、神輿、太鼓とともに八幡宮社殿を3周し拝殿に納まる「舞い込み」は、毎年多くの観客を集めます。

Sanjo Festival, held every year on May 15 as the spring grand festival of Hachimangu Shrine—the guardian shrine of Sanjo City—is a traditional event known for its 100,000-koku–class Daimyo Procession with a history of nearly 200 years. The festival is said to have originated in 1822 (Bunsei 5), when the people of Sanjo celebrated Naito Nobuatsu, lord of the Murakami Domain, upon his appointment as Kyoto Shoshidai by reenacting a 100,000-koku-class procession and accompanying the portable shrine.

Designated as a cultural property of the city, the festival features impressive performances by young attendants and a grand daimyo procession of more than 200 participants.

Following the procession, the highlight known as Maikomi draws large crowds each year: parents pray for their children’s healthy growth by carrying their 2-to 3-year-olds on their shoulders and circling the Hachimangu Shrine hall three times together with the portable shrine and taiko drums before entering the worship hall.

【三条六角巻凧】

須藤凧（いか）屋の作る、【三条六角巻凧】の歴史は古く、村上藩の陣屋があったことから凧（いか）揚げが推奨され、今現在も毎年6月には「三条凧（いか）合戦」が開催されており、平成27年3月24日新潟県指定無形民俗文化財「越後の凧（いか）合戦習俗」で三条凧（いか）合戦が認定されています。
その凧（いか）合戦の凧（いか）をすべて須藤凧（いか）屋で製作しています。

“Sanjo hexagon winding kite”

The “Sanjo hexagon winding kite” created by Sudo Ikaya has a very long history,
Which can be chased back to the jinya (administrative headquarters) in the Murakami han domain in the ancient time.
Todays, “Sanjo Kite-Flying Competition” is held in June every year; it is designated as intangible cultural treasures by Niigata Prefecture in 24th March 2015.
The “Sanjo Kite-Flying Competition” is designated as one of the local folks “competition event of Echigo area”.
And, Sudo Ikaya is the exclusive maker of all kites in the event.

参加日～キャンセルされた日の日数には、日本の休日（日曜、祭日）は含まれません。
例）月曜日出発のツアーが土曜日にキャンセルされた場合は前日扱いとなります。

In the event of natural disasters—including typhoons—acts of God, war, or civil unrest, or if you are unable to participate due to flight cancellations or delays, no refunds will be provided for the tour fee or any other losses or expenses incurred.
The tour guide will be wearing an orange vest with the word “Hinomaru” on it.

【Cancellation Policy】 
Sundays and public holidays in Japan is not counted when calculating the number of days between the tour date and the cancellation date.
Example: If a tour departing on Monday is canceled on Saturday, it will be treated as a cancellation made on the previous day.
